After the Curvv EV, the Tata Harrier EV will be the next big electric product from the local carmaker. The new electric SUV will debut in series production form in fiscal 2025. The Harrier EV is expected to be priced over Rs 30 lakh and will be paired with Mahindra XUV.e8It is expected to be available in December 2024. We saw the model in pre-production form at this year’s Bharat Mobile Expo, followed by multiple spy shots and videos. The latest news involves its interior, which has appeared online for the first time.
The latest spy images show that the dashboard looks almost identical to its ICE counterpart. However, it comes with a mounted speaker and yellow accents and is likely to make its way into the production version. The large 12.3-inch infotainment system is eye-catching and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
The electric SUV also features a digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charger, four-spoke steering wheel, touch-sensitive HVAC panel, stubby gear selector, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, 360-degree steering wheel with blind-spot monitoring Surround cameras, panoramic sunroof and level 2 ADAS technology.
The Tata Harrier EV will be built on the brand’s Acti.EV architecture, which is said to feature an optimized battery pack design with cells that comply with advanced global standards. The platform has a 10% increase in energy density and is compatible with a cruising range of 300-600 kilometers. The Acti.EV architecture made its debut in the Tata Punch EV. The Harrier EV is expected to feature a flat floor and come with V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) charging capabilities.
The specifications of the Tata Harrier EV are yet to be announced. However, it is reported that it is equipped with a 60kWh battery pack and has a range of about 500 kilometers on a full charge. The electric SUV will be equipped with two electric motors, one on each axle, allowing for an AWD (all-wheel drive) configuration.
