Volkswagen has launched a redesigned Tiguan in the United States with more power, an upscale interior and modern technology. The third-generation model is based on the MQB evo platform, rather than the previous MQB A unit. Thanks to the use of aluminum for the suspension and body structure, it weighs approximately 77 kilograms less than the second-generation model. Volkswagen hasn’t revealed dimensions yet, but the new Tiguan is 2 inches shorter due to lower front and rear overhangs. However, it has a longer wheelbase.
The 2025 model looks sharper with a rear spoiler, squared-off wheel wells, and dramatic sculpted lines that run along the body. Stylisher headlights and an illuminated Volkswagen logo add to the unique character. The car comes with standard 17-inch wheels, but for a more dramatic appearance and improved performance, you can upgrade to 19- or 20-inch wheels. New paint options for this model include Sandstone Uni, Monterey Blue Pearl and Avocado Green Pearl. Read on for more details.

2025 Volkswagen Tiguan: What’s new?
The new Tiguan is powered by an improved 2.0-liter EA888 turbocharged engine. The unit is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and has a maximum power output of 201bhp, an increase of 17bhp from the previous 184bhp. While the torque figure has not yet been revealed, it is expected to remain constant at 221Nm.
Beyond the powertrain, the Tiguan’s technology and craftsmanship have also advanced significantly. Depending on the model chosen, the cabin may come with gorgeous features such as quilted leather upholstery, American walnut wood trim, heated and cooled seats, and massage options for extra comfort.
Other notable features include a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro instrument cluster, a 12.9-inch infotainment screen (a larger 15.0-inch display is optional), a head-up display and two-zone automatic climate control (three-zone optional). To achieve a user-friendly interface, the car’s main functions are physically accessible via buttons on the center console and dashboard. Additionally, buyers can choose to upgrade to a new 12-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system.
The 2025 model will no longer offer a third-row option. The automaker claims that the 2025 Tiguan can seat up to five passengers and will be available only in North America as a two-row SUV.
