2025 Volvo XC90 facelift will be launched in India next week

The 2025 Volvo XC90 has external tweaks and updated interior with a larger 11.2-inch vertical touch screen infotainment system

The updated version of the XC90 is scheduled to be launched in India on March 4, 2025 and has received subtle revisions to extend the lifespan of the existing generation. The flagship luxury SUV debuted in September 2024 and since then, it has entered several markets in the international arena. Its launch may be the revised XC60 in India.

As for the design, the 2025 Volvo XC90 gets a revised front grille section with new inserts on it, redesigned Thor Hammer headlights, newly designed alloy wheels, air conditioning vents positioned vertically on the bumper, and more. Just like the exterior, the cabin gets the ex90 inspiration from the ex90 and gets the most disturbing touchscreen.

Swedish Auto Professional has replaced the 9-inch display with an 11.2-inch vertical screen, which is located in the center of several interior features. It also has improved resolution and opens new features, apps and over-the-air software updates. Volvo also utilizes recyclable materials in the cabin and has been adjusted to further enhance overall comfort.

The seven-seat layout that India already offers is expected to continue, while the powertrain will remain the same. The 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine will be used simultaneously with a mild hybrid system, with a maximum power output of about 250 hp and 360 nm of peak torque. It will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to all four wheels standard states.

Volvo also sells plug-in hybrid XC90 T8 variants worldwide, but it is extremely unlikely to reach India. By comparison, it will feature Audi Q7, BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE as the models and prices are likely to be slightly higher. The SUV also uses sensors, cameras and radars to provide a set of active safety features.

Additionally, an optional air suspension is used with an active chassis that monitors the vehicle, surface condition and driver to provide comfortable driving according to the brand.
