2026 Honda Accord Facelift debuts in China
  • Honda will sell new agreements in China with 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter plug-in hybrids.
  • The biggest changes include a new front grille and a unique front bumper.
  • Like the global agreement, the cabin includes large infotainment displays and digital clusters.

It has been less than two years since Honda began selling its 11th-generation deal in China, but it has not wasted any time updating the sedan’s design. Now available with the refreshed 2026 model, with some smaller but compelling upgrades to give it a more aggressive look, however, it remains at its core with sedans sold on the global market.

A new face

The Chinese market agreements, built in partnership with local automaker GAC, have received only the latest news on the front end, but they are enough to make it look less “bland sedan” and more “slight threat”. However, these changes are not radical. The internal headlight unit has been cleverly adjusted, but the shape remains the same. Now the LED’s daytime running lights (DRL) extend further towards the edge of the grille and for the god of design, the nasty orange reflector is finally gone.

Although it retains the same general shape and size as the outgoing model, a new grille is also added. This time, it is composed of 19 silver horizontal slats that sound strange and very precise.

A sportier front bumper has also been installed in the protocol. This angle has a more complex angle and makes the front end more personal than the global agreement. There is no significant adjustment to the rear of the Honda. This means it continues to shake the same familiar taillights and comes with LED strips.

Same internal and powertrain

Inside, everything looks familiar. A small circular screen/rotating dial is located under the vents, while a large 15-inch infotainment display and digital instrument panel are the highlights.

As for the powertrain, Chinese media reported that the same two engines from previous models will continue. You have a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 189 hp (141 kW) and 192 lb-ft (260 nm), and a 2.0-liter plug-in hybrid with 181 hp (135 kW) and 247 lb-ft (335) NM), offering a full electric range of 66 miles (106 km).

What about the global agreement?

There is no news yet on whether these updates will enter the global agreement, or whether the Chinese market is strictly retained. Honda keeps quiet on this front, but don’t hold your breath and wait for a major redesign given the relatively small changes.

Coordination or inspiration?

Don’t forget that in China, the Agreement shares showroom space with the Inspire, which is basically the same car but has a different front and rear design. It was built by Dongfeng, other Honda’s manufacturing partner, and offers traditional and plug-in hybrid variants. So if you are in China and the protocol is not your style, there is always another option.
