2026 Polestar 2 looks the same, but hides the main interior

Polestar hopes faster infotainment systems, more advanced audio settings and new exterior colors can help electric cars attract more buyers

2026 POLESTAR 2 looks the same, but hides the main internal upgrade
  • POLESTAR 2 gets the Snapdragon chip’s improved infotainment speed and connectivity.
  • The optional Bowers & Wilkins 14 speaker system adds 1,350 watts of advanced audio clarity.
  • The new CATL 70 kWh battery increases the range of the WLTP base model to 344 miles.

Polestar 2 is the longest-serving member of the lineup, and he debuted in 2019. Despite the age, the Swedish brand remains up to date with its 2023 makeover and stable annual model updates. For 2026, the all-electric lift will receive a technology-centric refresh, which includes a new infotainment processor, an optional Bowers & Wilkins audio system, and extended personalization options.

From the outside, the Polestar 2 is now available in dune shades, with a smooth mica finish that can replace the Jupiter color. Additionally, the optional performance package features 20-inch forged alloy wheels with a fresh five-spoke design.

The EV moved internally, gaining the more advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon processor chip, bringing it closer to the Polestar lineup in terms of computing power. Upgraded chips improve download speeds, improve responsiveness and improve overall performance of infotainment systems.

An interesting addition to the optional device is the Bowers & Wilkins audio system, equipped with 14 speakers and a total output of 1,350 watts. Additionally, the optional Plus Pack adds a new bio-index miniature technology upholstery and pairs with stitching designs and black grey inserts in charcoal. Finally, the new Prime package tied the pilot, plus the climate package, with the privacy glass on the rear windows and the rear glass.

There is no mechanical change in 2026, but the 70 kWh battery option from CATL, launched last year, will be available in more markets, replacing the older 69 kWh battery offered by LG Chem. This results in a slight increase in WLTP for the standard range single motor variant, from 546 km (339 miles) to 554 km (344 miles).

The Polestar 2 is compatible with the plug technology introduced by the Polestar 3, which allows the driver to simply plug the cable into a common charger and let the vehicle start and verify the process.

The 2026 Polestar 2 is already available for ordering in Europe, with other markets including the U.S. set to take place later this year.
