
You only need to make one change, one shift, that will have a significant impact on your 2024 trade show results.
This is information specifically for small businesses. I mean any business that has a small booth at a large show, or even a tabletop booth somewhere.
One thing I know is that trade shows are only one part of everything you do.
You don’t have someone who’s dedicated to trade show management and planning, doing all of that stuff, that’s all they do. You wear many hats, or there’s a lot of other things going on.
If you feel the same way, I support you. I know how it feels. So what you need to do is change your perspective on trade shows.
What does this mean? Well, listen, a trade show is the most powerful marketing tool you can have, and it can pay off big time. If you have the right mindset, if you plan it right, then it’s the most powerful marketing tool, and if you plan it right, then I’m going to have the best opportunity at this show. If you plan it right, then you’re going to be able to attract the biggest clients and fill my sales pipeline for the year.
But if you don’t plan for it, you’ll get mediocre results.
You are in control of everything. It all starts with your mindset.
The right mindset is that trade shows are worth your time and energy, first and foremost. You need to commit to taking these shows seriously. You get what you put in.
You have to be efficient. You have to plan like this show is going to make your year a blast. This show is going to fill your lead funnel. You never think about this as the approach you have to take because this is the reality that it can happen for you if you plan properly, but planning with that mindset alone is not enough.
You must execute with the same mindset you brought to the event, and now you must instill that mindset into your entire team, including those who will be attending or helping you plan the event. Take this seriously.
Once you’re at a trade show, it’s more than a hassle. It’s more than a vacation. It’s more than just time away from the office.
You have to give it your all. That’s why you’re here.
I’ve worked with people who didn’t give it their all. OK. We weren’t focused, we weren’t engaged. The results were bad, but if you lock in your goals, you have a strategy, make sure everyone is on the same page, then you can go for it.
You implement this strategy, engage with attendees, make things happen. If you don’t do this, the results will be double or more. Double or more. So you spend a little more time and you can do it right.
It all depends on your mindset.
