The company will only build six special Range Rovers, reserved for Australian buyers with deep pockets and room for at least one statue.
Land Rover has unveiled the latest special edition of the Range Rover, which is exclusive to the Australian market. The Ranger Rover SV Orpheus Edition is limited to six units and features bespoke specifications inspired by remote islands.
Inside, we find Perlino-coloured quilted leather seats with matching seat belts, a “Natural Cream Gray Burr” steering wheel and white ceramic controls, while the upper cabin interior matches the exterior. For an extra level of exclusivity, the cushions, treadplates, and seat embroidery can be further personalized.
The Orpheus Edition is powered by a mild-hybrid twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine producing 570 hp (452 kW / 578 PS) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. This allows the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint to be completed in 4.5 seconds, which is not bad for a heavyweight luxurious SUV.
The company hasn’t revealed whether the six available units of the Range Rover SV Orpheus Edition have already been reserved, but we’re guessing you can still buy one. The model is priced from AU$ 520,561 (US$ 339,000) before on-road costs, making it the priciest member of the lineup in Australia.
By comparison, the standard Range Rover starts at AU$285,211 (US$185,700), while the rival Bentley Bentayga starts at AU$378,600 (US$235,000). Still, it feels like a good deal when you compare the latest Range Rover to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which starts at AU$705,000 (US$459,100) in the same market.
