This year’s festival has given the Indian electric vehicle market a much-needed boost in October. The electric vehicle segment, whose sales have continued to decline over the past two months, had the highest monthly sales of 217,716 units. According to Vahan data from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, this is the second time that electric vehicle sales have crossed the 200,000-unit mark in 2024, pushing total electric vehicle registrations past the 6 million unit milestone.
Considering the growth in the electric vehicle segment, OEMs such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra, Tata, Toyota and Honda are gearing up to launch a slew of new electric vehicles aimed at the mass market. In the next 3-4 months, we will see the launch of three mid-size electric SUVs from India’s top carmakers – Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Mahindra. Mahindra BE 6e
In the company’s product lineup, New Mahindra BE 6e Will sit above the XUV400 EV. Its mass production version will be officially unveiled on November 26, 2024, and will be available soon thereafter. The final model of this SUV is likely to be 4370mm long, 1900mm wide and 1635mm tall like its concept counterpart. It will have a wheelbase of 2775 mm. The dual-screen setup and surround elements extending from the dashboard to the center console will remain in the concept. There are no specific specifications yet; however, the Mahindra BE 6e is expected to come with two battery packs (60kWh and 79kWh) and two drivetrain options: RWD and AWD. The larger battery version is likely to offer around 450 kilometers of range on a single charge.
Hyundai Creta electric car
