3 Tata electric car launches in Mauritius

Tata Motors is busy expanding its operations outside of India. Recently, we have seen the company start operating ice and electric vehicles seven times in Sri Lanka. Now, Tata Motors has set its sights on Mauritius, launching three electric vehicles and demonstrating their engineering and manufacturing capabilities.

Tata Motors, one of India’s leading SUV manufacturers, has just expanded its business to involve Mauritius. Tata is also the maker of India’s best-selling cars in 2024.

Through a strategic partnership with Allied Motors, Tata.ev, a leading Mauritius-based auto distributor, is introducing three electric vehicles on the Indian Ocean Island. As part of the Mauritius lineup, Tata offers Tiago EV, Punch EV and Nexon EV.

Tata offers a standard warranty of 8 years or 1,60,000 km in Mauritius and a 7-year or 1,50,000 vehicle warranty in Mauritius. Additionally, Tata’s goal is to impress the Mauritius Market, which offers faster 7.2 kW home charging wall box charger for free.

The Tiago EV will be the most affordable vehicle in this trio, and the Tata appears to be offering a new 2025 model with all bells and whistles. It packs a 24 kWh battery pack that promises a “near real world” C75 rated at 210 km. Features include adjustable mode, drive mode, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, automatic climate control, automatic headlights and wipers, and cruise control. DC fast charging ensures 10%-80% in 58 minutes.

In the middle, our Punch EV comes with a 35 kWh battery pack that is expected to reach a range of 290 km on a single charge. The battery powers a 90 kW (121 bhp) motor. Inside, we get a 10.25-inch Harman infotainment screen that includes wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, automatically lowering IRVM, Leatherte Invertery, and other expected features for the course.

On the top, we have Tata’s Nexon EV. It is the best quality vehicle in this trio, equipped with a larger 45 kWh battery pack and a C75 range of up to 375 km on a single charge. The motor is more powerful and can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 8.9 seconds. Functions include 8 speakers JBL system, sunroof, 360-degree camera, etc.
