This V8-powered off-roader has a 4-inch lift and 35-inch tires

- The Hummer H3R concept car will be auctioned next month.
- The model originally debuted at SEMA in 2007 with a 505-horsepower V8 engine.
- Although there is no auction estimate, the concept sold in 2009 for $44,000.
If you forgot about the Hummer H3R concept, you’re not alone. However, the high-performance off-roader will be auctioned at Mecum’s Indy Fall Special on October 5.
So what’s so special about the H3R? It’s powered by a 7.0-liter LS7 V8 from the Corvette Z06. GM didn’t even keep this engine, as it gets a custom air induction system and special valve and ignition coil covers. They’re joined together by a larger radiator, a four-speed automatic transmission, and a locking front differential.

The 505 hp (377 kW / 512 PS) SUV looks very handsome thanks to a four-inch lift and 20-inch wheels wrapped in 35-inch Mickey Thompson tires. The latter are backed up by a high-performance Rotora brake system.
In addition to the functional upgrades, the concept car also features a body-colored grille and a unique hood with a clear Lexan insert. The H3R also stands out with a skid plate, rock sliders, and six auxiliary lights. Other special features include quick-release wheel arches, quad exhaust pipes, and a fuel drum where the spare tire would normally be placed.

The cabin upgrades are more controversial, but there are two racing seats with five-point harnesses. The driver sits behind a Momo steering wheel, surrounded by auxiliary instruments, painted metal trim, and carbon fiber accents.
Designers also equipped this SEMA special edition with a dashboard flashlight and an infotainment system with GPS navigation. Although the dashboard is almost unreadable due to the map theme, the instrument cluster shows that this concept car has only traveled 1,871 miles (3,011 kilometers). Regardless, you’d better like to travel in a small group, because the second row of seats has been removed to make way for the spare tire.
While there is no auction estimate, after some research, it was discovered that this concept car was sold by Barrett-Jackson for $44,000 in 2009. The listing also states that the car is “not certified under any federal, state or local laws, rules or regulations to be operated on public roads.”
