7 Maruti Suzuki cars to be launched in next 2 years

Maruti Suzuki will debut in several new segments in the coming years, with its upcoming models including compact MPVs, electric SUVs, 7-seater SUVs, etc.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), India’s largest and leading carmaker, has been aggressive in introducing new models and updating existing models in its product line-up. The Japanese carmaker is developing a number of new products for the Indian market, which will mark its entry into some new territories. In this article, we take a look at the Maruti cars that will be launched in India in the next two years.

1. Maruti Suzuki and Vitara

e Vitara is scheduled to be officially launched in the Indian market on January 17 at the Bharat Mobile Expo 2025. Maruti Suzuki’s first electric car was recently teased and it will be manufactured at Suzuki’s plant in Gujarat. This electric SUV, internally codenamed YY8, has a length of 4,275 mm and a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.

The 7-seater MPV is slightly less than 4 meters in length and will rival models such as the Renault Triber in the domestic market. It will be sold through the brand’s Nexa dealership chain. Under the hood, the MPV is expected to use the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine that debuted in the new-generation Swift.

4. New generation Maruti Suzuki Baleno

The current Baleno has been on the market for a long time and received a mid-cycle refresh in 2022. A new generation of premium hatchback models are already under development and are expected to go on sale around 2026.

The new model may use the new HEV series hybrid powertrain, with fuel efficiency exceeding 30 km/liter. It will be one of the first models in the brand’s lineup to use the upcoming range’s hybrid powertrain. We expect new platforms, updated designs, and expanded functionality to be part of the package.

Fronx Facelift, internally codenamed YTB, is expected to be launched in the Indian market next year (i.e. 2025). This crossover SUV was launched in 2023 and has performed quite well in sales. Apart from the new design and updated features, the highlight of the updated Fronx will be Maruti Suzuki’s new HEV range hybrid powertrain technology, which will make its debut on the facelifted model.

6. Maruti Suzuki Electric MPV

Maruti Suzuki is developing a new electric MPV for the Indian market and if all goes well, we expect it to be launched in 2026. The electric MPV, internally codenamed YMC, will share its underpinnings with the e Vitara and will also have a Toyota derivative later.
