MG Windsor EV Excite, Exclusive, Essence Model Introduction:

MG Motor has launched its all-new electric car in India named Windsor. After the Comet EV and ZS EV, this is the third electric car launched by the British automaker in India. Available at an introductory price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the model also comes with a unique pay-per-mileage battery leasing service of Rs 3.5 per kilometre travelled. Apart from this, the company is also offering an unlimited battery warranty to the initial customers of this EV. The newly launched product is available in four single-colour paint colours. However, only the fully-equipped Essence variant comes with a black roof for all exterior sun shading. Talking about the variants, potential customers can choose between the three available options: Excite, Exclusive and Essence. MG Windsor EV: Design, battery details and market competitors

The Windsor is essentially a rebadged version of the Wuling Yun EV and follows the Aero Glide design language. It comes with aesthetic components such as vertically stacked headlamps, illuminated MG logo, wide raked windshield with short hood, full-width light bar at the front, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and flush rear door handles.

Mechanically, the MG Windsor EV is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor and an IP67-rated 38kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. The motor produces 220Nm of peak torque and 134bhp of maximum power. The claimed range is 331km and it can be charged in 55 minutes using DC fast charging.

Although the prices of its high-spec models are yet to be announced, the test drives of the Windsor will start on September 25. Bookings will start on October 3 and deliveries will begin on October 12. As far as the market competition is concerned, the rivals of this electric car are Tata Nexon EV, Curvv EV and Mahindra XUV400.
