- Ford teases the 2025 Expedition ahead of its debut next month.
- The model will follow in the footsteps of the Lincoln Navigator, with a bold new face and split doors.
- Power will be provided by the familiar twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine with an output of up to 440 horsepower.
Ford has released the first teaser images of the 2025 Expedition ahead of its Oct. 3 debut. That’s no surprise, though, as unabashed prototypes are already running around Detroit and Lincoln unveiled the 2025 Navigator in August.
var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){ adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9 -9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(” 6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657″); } });
That being said, the teaser image is quite revealing as it shows that the full-size SUV will have a new front fascia with a wide grille surrounded by a thin illuminated strip. We can also see slim headlights and a small air intake located just below the grille.

The rest of the design is very familiar, as it is largely inherited from the Navigator. That means there are rounded wheel arches, prominent character lines, and an odd kink in the beltline.
window._taboola = window._taboola || (); _taboola.push({ mode: ‘thumbnails-a-mid’, container: ‘taboola-mid-article’, location: ‘Mid Article’, target_type: ‘mix’ } );
window._taboola = window._taboola || (); _taboola.push({ mode: ‘thumbnails-oc-2×1’, container: ‘taboola-mid-article-thumbnails-organic’, position: ‘middle article thumbnail organic’ , target_type: ‘mix’ });
At the back, we can expect a new split door that echoes the one on the Navigator. The top three-quarters rise like a traditional liftgate, while the bottom lowers like a traditional tailgate.
Split doors aren’t the only radical change, as the cabin has been completely redesigned and broadly follows in the Navigator’s footsteps. However, it replaces the massive 48-inch pillar-to-pillar display with a smaller screen mounted atop the dashboard. It’s connected by a secondary display, which apparently functions as a traditional infotainment system.
Elsewhere, there are vertical air vents and a bank of physical controls below the infotainment system. This model also features a wide center console, as well as contrasting stitching on the Tremor model.
While the Navigator is powered solely by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 440 hp (328 kW / 446 PS) and 510 lb-ft (691 Nm) of torque, the upcoming Expedition comes with three different outputs, including the aforementioned number. The entry-level model has 380 hp (283 kW / 385 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque, while the Limited, King Ranch and Platinum have 400 hp (298 kW / 406 PS) and 480 lb-ft (637 Nm) m) torque. 650 Nm) of torque.
