What are the best-selling electric cars today?

  • There is a wide variety of electric vehicles on the market today for buyers to choose from.
  • Some great models are vying for the title of best electric car of the year.
  • Now it’s your turn to be the judge and crown the ultimate electric car of 2024.

No car is perfect, and electric cars are certainly far from that designation, but they’re better than ever. Many models are faster, more powerful, less expensive and more refined. Now we invite you to decide which one deserves first place.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){ adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9 -9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(” 6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657″); } });

The rules are simple. You can choose any 2024 electric car as long as you can provide a compelling reason. The debate may even end up centering on pricing, rebates, range, charging speed or charging infrastructure. Next, let’s take a closer look at some of today’s many candidates.

Our main image shows three images that may be eligible. The Tesla Model 3 got an update this year that basically takes everything that was great about the original and makes it even better. It’s reasonably quiet inside, the cabin materials are of higher quality, and rear-seat passengers get their own small infotainment system. Considering the Model 3 is the best-seller in the electric vehicle space, these changes are huge.

window._taboola = window._taboola || (); _taboola.push({ mode: ‘thumbnails-a-mid’, container: ‘taboola-mid-article’, location: ‘Mid Article’, target_type: ‘mix’ } );

window._taboola = window._taboola || (); _taboola.push({ mode: ‘thumbnails-oc-2×1’, container: ‘taboola-mid-article-thumbnails-organic’, position: ‘middle article thumbnail organic’ , target_type: ‘mix’ });

Next, let’s talk about the other end of the spectrum, the Rimac Nevera R. The original, already crazy Nevera was already a straight-line missile. The R is a track-focused weapon with a single output of 1,989 horsepower and updated torque vectoring for faster lap times.

The Rolls-Royce Specter may also end up being the winner, as it may be the best implementation of an electric vehicle powertrain to date. It doesn’t need to be extremely fast, cornering, or have a long range like a sports car. It needed to be quiet, luxurious, and imposing, and it achieved all of that brilliantly.

But ultimately, my choice for 2024 Electric Car of the Year has to be the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. While I haven’t driven one yet, reviews, including one from Brad Anderson , all point to one thing: it’s the next evolution in performance electric vehicles. Cars like the Rimac Nevera might offer sheer speed, but the Ioniq 5 N aims to be ridiculously fast, fun in every way, and not so expensive that only the super-rich can afford it.
