With the 2025 Yamaha R3, the company has brought a modern design DNA to the motorcycle, bringing it in line with its other YZF-R and YZR-M bikes
Team Blue has launched an updated version of the YZF-R3, which is shaking the hearts of motorcycle enthusiasts around the world. This motorcycle is one of the last motorcycles in the YZF-R series to adopt the old design DNA, which has been transplanted to the new generation R series styling, inspired by the flagship YZR-M1 racing car.
2025 Yamaha R3
In the United States, Yamaha has launched the 2025 R3 with a complete design refresh. The 2025 Yamaha R3 is priced at $5,499 in the US, which translates to Rs 4.62 lakh at today’s exchange rate. It is available in three colors – Yamaha Team Blue, Matte Stealth Black and Moonlight White/Nebula Blue.
We can see a new dashboard that adopts Yamaha’s updated R-series design language. An aggressive new front fairing is the main change, while sleeker side panels and a sharper tail are also noteworthy. The R3 now features a single projector headlight flanked by a four-element LED DRL logo divided into two parts.
This time, the raised rear end is equipped with LED brake lights and turn signals. Yamaha Team Blue and Matte Stealth Black have slightly minimal decals on the side fairings, where we see a smaller R3 sticker. For Moonlight White/Nebula Blue, Yamaha offers a larger R3 sticker and a Yamaha sticker underneath.
Additionally, Team Yamaha Blue is the only colorway where the company offers blue alloy wheels and gold USD fork finish, while the other two colors are available in black in both areas. The 2025 R3 features a new LCD instrument panel with blue backlighting.
It has extensive telemetry capabilities as well as Bluetooth connectivity and Y-Connect app support. But there is no navigation. Yamaha has also added a USB-A charging port, which may also be USB-C. The motorcycle promises 50:50 weight distribution for enhanced agility and provides the rider with a firm riding position to make the most of all its handling characteristics.
What else is new?
The company used a modern fuel injection system and a short muffler design for mass centralization. High-revving 321cc DOHC 4V liquid-cooled inline twin-cylinder engine. Power and torque figures are around 41 bhp and 30 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox and slip assist clutch for the first time.
Sports clip-on handlebars, USD telescopic front fork, 129.5mm travel, preload-adjustable rear monoshock, 124.5mm travel, 298mm front single floating disc, 220mm rear disc, dual-channel ABS, front 110/70 -17 and 140/70- 17 rear Dunlop Sportmax tires are some of the famous components. The India launch is yet to be confirmed.
