Rolls-Royce Ghost facelift

Rolls-Royce Ghost II revealed, facelifted car gets more customization and styling changes

The Rolls-Royce Ghost gets a facelift that introduces subtle design tweaks along with major improvements in interior customization and technology. As demand for personalization continues to grow, Rolls-Royce has shifted its focus to offering a wide range of customization options while retaining Ghost’s signature luxury and refinement.

Interior customization and material selection

One of the standout features of the updated Ghost is the expanded range of interior materials. Customers can now choose from new handcrafted materials such as gray ash and binary twill.

Gray Ash is a carefully hand-stained ash wood infused with metallic particles to create a shimmering effect that adds a touch of glamor to the cabin. Binary twill, on the other hand, is a unique textile woven from bamboo and inspired by the ropes used on sailing ships. This complex material is highly labor-intensive, with the complete interior requiring more than 2 million stitches and approximately 17.7 kilometers of thread, taking approximately 20 hours to complete.

These customization options tap into the growing trend of bespoke interior designs, with Ghost buyers reportedly spending an average of 10% of the car’s retail price on personalization.

Technology and feature upgrades

The facelifted Ghost also comes with improved technology features. The dashboard now includes a glass panel spanning the entire width, providing a sleek and modern look. Additionally, the digital instrument panel’s software can be customized to match the car’s exterior color, adding another layer of personalization.

Connectivity inside the car has also been significantly enhanced. Rear-seat passengers can now connect up to two streaming devices to their own screens, and the infotainment system supports wireless headphones. The USB-C port is also cleverly hidden in the center console for easy access. The audio experience has been upgraded, with the amplifier power increased from 1300W to 1400W, ensuring a more immersive sound system for passengers.

Subtle styling changes

On the outside, the Ghost facelift has received subtle yet effective styling updates, bringing it closer to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II. The front bumper now features a smaller lower grille, while daytime running lights surround the main projector lens, giving it a unique look. The lights at the rear feature a strip-like design, providing a modern look without deviating from the brand’s iconic design language.

Powertrain and performance

Under the hood, the Ghost continues to offer a powerful 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine. The engine is available in two power outputs: 563 hp in the standard model and 592 hp in the performance-focused Black Badge model. The Black Badge version also gets performance upgrades, including a raised brake bite point, reduced pedal travel, and a “low” drive mode that shifts gears 50 percent faster when the throttle is pressed to 90 percent.

Ghost retains its advanced planar suspension system, ensuring the smooth, relaxed ride Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is known for, regardless of model choice.

India release schedule

The updated Rolls-Royce Ghost is expected to go on sale in India in the coming months. As demand for highly customized luxury vehicles continues to grow, the Ghost facelift is likely to appeal to discerning customers looking for performance and personalization in a luxury vehicle.
