
Hyundai Inster Cross has been launched for global markets. It’s essentially a new, off-road-focused variant Inster electric vehicle It will be sold to India by the end of 2026. The Hyundai Inster EV Cross will enter production by the end of 2024 at the brand’s manufacturing plant in South Korea. Compared with the Inster EV, the new off-road model adopts bold styling elements that enhance its rugged appearance. “The INSTER Cross offers an option for those looking for an electric vehicle with a more adventurous appearance,” the automaker said. It is said to offer “enhanced mobility, practicality and flexibility”.
The Inster Cross looks very solid and has some cosmetic improvements compared to the regular model. It gets new rectangular front and rear bumpers, black cladding around the wheel arches, faux skid plates and new 17-inch alloy wheels. New roof racks are standard across the entire model range, adding even more appeal to its outdoor appearance. Hyundai has also launched a new Amazonas Green Matte color scheme alongside all the regular shades available with the Inster EV.
The interior of the Hyundai Inster EV Cross has a unique color and trim combination – gray cloth with lime yellow accents. You can also notice the lime yellow accents on the dashboard. In terms of features, the Inster Cross offers a 10.25-inch central touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless charging dock located in the center console, interactive pixel light steering, Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car services, heating Seats and steering wheel, one-touch sunroof, 64-color LED ambient lighting, modern intelligent perception technology-ADAS, rearview monitor, seven standard airbags, rear parking collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist and parking distance warning, etc.
The Hyundai Inster Cross is available with two battery packs – 96bhp, 42kWh and 113bhp, 49kWh – promising WLTP ranges of 300km and 355km respectively. Both motors will have a single motor setup. Its battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes using a 120kW DC charger. The Inster Cross EV will miss out on 4X4 or AWD (all-wheel drive) systems.
