Jeep has launched the updated Meridian in India with prices starting at Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new version is available in five-seater and seven-seater variants and is Rs 6.24 cheaper than the previous entry-level model. It now comes in four variants: Longitude, Longitude Plus, Limited (O) and Overland. The base model is available in 5-seater configuration only, while the remaining variants are available in 5-seater and 7-seater configurations. Bookings for the SUV are currently underway and deliveries are expected to begin by the end of October 2024. Read on for more details.

Jeep Meridian facelift: exterior and interior
The Meridian’s appearance has undergone small but noticeable changes. For example, the familiar seven-slat grille’s honeycomb grid now features chrome studs. In addition, the SUV is equipped with new 18-inch alloy wheels in different patterns depending on the model.
There are no major changes to the SUV’s interior, but the dashboard now gets a new suede finish with copper stitching, while the seats get beige upholstery. Additionally, the chrome strip supporting the dashboard is now coated in copper. Apart from this, the SUV continues to feature a 9-speaker Alpine sound system, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless charger and ventilated front seats.
According to Jeep, the trunk space of the five-seat SUV is 670 liters, while the trunk space of the seven-seat version is 824 liters with the second row folded. However, the seven-seat model has 170 liters of cargo space when all three rows are occupied.

In terms of functionality, the new Meridian gets a number of new technologies, including the Level 2 ADAS suite. The feature, available on top-spec Overland models, includes features such as Intelligent Speed Assist, full-speed forward collision, collision warning with collision mitigation braking, lane departure warning and lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, blind spot detection, driver attention alerts with collision mitigation and more. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function. Other notable highlights of the SUV include dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, front and rear parking sensors with 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, six airbags, ABS with EBD, tire pressure monitoring system. More connected car technology is also available, such as Alexa Home connectivity.
Jeep Meridian facelift: Powertrain
Mechanically, the updated SUV is powered by the same 2.0-litre diesel engine, mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or a nine-speed torque converter automatic unit. This setup produces a maximum power output of 168bhp and a peak torque of 350Nm. Similar to the previous generation model, this SUV is available in 4×2 and 4×4 versions.
