A design patent for a Mavrick 440-based Scrambler motorcycle has been leaked online, providing several key details about the new model.
We had told you earlier that Hero MotoCorp was all set to launch four new two-wheeler models at EICMA 2024 in Italy, including the scrambler variant of the Mavrick 440. Now, ahead of its official debut, images of Hero Mavrick’s patented design for the 440 Scrambler have leaked online. The Royal Enfield Bear 650 Scrambler will also make its public debut at EICMA 2024 on November 5.
Judging from the leaked images, the Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler looks sturdier and more muscular than the Mavrick 440 due to the addition of several new components such as a fly screen and fork leg guards. The RSU telescopic fork has been carried over from the stock model, but unfortunately a USD fork similar to its Harley-Davidson counterpart is not available.
The leaked design patent also reveals new handlebars with cross braces. The fuel tank was retained, although the tank guard received a new pattern. In fact, the side body panels are also new for the Scrambler version. The seat also appears quite flat and wide compared to the standard Mavrick 440. Last but not least, we can also notice a new armrest, while the rear profile houses the turn indicators and taillight clusters.
The Scrambler version based on the Mavrick 440 will feature newly designed alloy wheels. The company may also offer dual-tone paint schemes and single-tone color options. To make it look more rugged, there’s a new guard that also acts as a protector next to the metal fender.
The leaked design patent doesn’t reveal the tires, but we have no doubt that dual-sport tires will be standard on the new Scrambler motorcycle. It will be powered by the same proven 440cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine with a power output of 27bhp and torque performance of 36Nm, while being connected to a 6-speed gearbox.
It’s obvious that the Scrambler version is heavier than the regular Mavrick 440 due to the addition of some new components. In terms of price, it will be more premium than the Mavrick 440 and could become the most expensive Hero motorcycle in the Indian market so far.
