— Nearly 32,000 Ram 1500 Classic trucks equipped with heated trailer tow mirrors are recalled.
The mirror glass on recalled 2020-2023 Ram 1500 Classic trucks may detach from the driver’s side heated trailer tow mirror.
Federal regulations require trucks to be equipped with driver-side exterior mirrors with reflective surfaces, but the truck mirror glass may not adhere properly to the back panel.
This means the driver’s side heated trailer towing mirror glass may come off.
In July 2023, Chrysler learned that the rearview mirror glass was detached on a Ram 1500 Classic truck.
Ford expects to mail out rearview mirror recall letters on December 5, 2024, and dealers will replace the rearview mirror glass.
Ram 1500 Classic owners can contact FCA at 800-853-1403 and reference recall number 86B.
MOPAR trailer exterior mirrors
More than 13,000 MOPAR trailer exterior mirrors are being recalled due to the possibility of the glass falling off. Mirror glass part numbers are 68286843AA, 68582424AA, 68582415AA and 68462879AA.
Once the recall letter is mailed on December 5, 2024, dealers will replace or repurchase the mirror glass.
