As show planners, organizers and exhibitors, what should we expect from the industry in 2022? To discuss this and other topics, I am honored to have Danica Tormohlen, Content Director, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO), on the podcast for a second time.
Danica began her career in the trade show industry in 1994 at EXPO magazine, where she later served as publisher and editor-in-chief. She then served as contributing editor to Trade Show Executive for 10 years.
We discuss:
- Latest News from SISO
- Industry Trends
- Danica recently attended PCMA, the PGA Show, and the Winter Fine Food Show
Key Takeaways:
- Independent show organizers will go ahead with the 2022 show despite Omicron’s presence.
- Visitors to the show now are high-quality buyers looking for new products and new suppliers.
- Small and medium-sized enterprises, the lifeblood of the economy, are ready to resume face-to-face communication and grow their business by participating in trade shows.
- The trade show industry has already seen growth in the first quarter of 2022, with most sectors expected to see year-over-year growth.
- The quicker international tourism rebounds without restrictions and the quicker corporate travel and return-to-office strategies are implemented, the faster the trade show industry will grow.
