2025 Toyota Grand Highlander $2,460 cheaper, adds

  • Toyota has launched the 2025 Grand Highlander, which offers a new LE trim as well as Hybrid Nightshade.
  • Grand Highlander LE starts at $40,860 and comes with seating for eight, a power tailgate and a 12.3-inch infotainment system.
  • Customers who want a black exterior will need to spend more than $52,610 for the Grand Highlander Hybrid Nightshade.

Price increases appear to be in order, but Toyota is fighting back with the 2025 Grand Highlander. It gets a new entry-level LE trim, which lowers the price of entry to $40,860 (excluding $1,450 destination charge).

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”) { adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9 -9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(” 6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657″); } });

That’s a sizable savings, since the 2024 lineup begins with the $43,320 Grand Highlander XLE. Of course, there are some trade-offs to keep the price down by $2,460.

Review: 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is versatile, versatile

Thankfully, this model comes with a power tailgate and 18-inch alloy wheels, so it doesn’t come cheap. They also come with heated power mirrors with blind-spot warning indicators.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”) { adpushup.triggerAd(“5646c171 -cb6e-4e2c-8440-49013ca72758″); } else { adpushup.triggerAd(” e7c4c913-3924-4b2d-9279-6c00984dd130″); } });

The interior features eight fabric seats and analog gauges, complete with a 7-inch multi-information display. Buyers will also find a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a six-speaker sound system and a three-zone climate control system. In addition, it also comes with an eight-way power driver’s seat and the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 driver assistance system suite.

The LE trim comes standard with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 265 hp (198 kW / 269 PS) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and can be paired with optional all-wheel drive for an additional $1,600.

Customers can also purchase a hybrid model, starting at $44,210. It has a 2.5-liter engine, a small battery pack, and a rear-mounted electric motor that provides all-wheel drive. While output drops to 245 hp (183 kW / 248 hp), fuel economy ratings soar to 36 mpg city, 32 mpg highway and 34 mpg combined.

Speaking of eco-friendly variants, there is a new hybrid nightshade version. It’s based on the Hybrid Limited and starts at $52,610.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”) { adpushup.triggerAd(“e96f0476 -8b1d-4bb8-b64c-33f9656987b2″); } else { adpushup.triggerAd(” 0f9edca9-aa84-4c07-8987-4cad23928c2d”); } });

As the name suggests, the Nightshade embraces the dark side as it comes with a black hood, black bumpers, and black 20-inch wheels. In addition, there are black spoilers, black rearview mirror caps and black door handles.

The dark theme continues inside, with black leather seats and matte gray metallic accents. Other highlights include heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row captain’s chairs and an 11-speaker JBL premium audio system. It sits on top of the usual heated steering wheel, ambient lighting system and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

Other changes are limited, but the 2025 Grand Highlander is available in a new Heavy Metal paint color on Limited and Hybrid MAX. XLE and above trims equipped with captain’s chairs also come standard with a removable second-row center console.

In addition to these minor updates, the price has also increased. The XLE is up $310 and the Limited is up $250. Likewise, the range-topping Grand Highlander Hybrid MAX Platinum AWD starts at $58,775, a $300 increase.

Most versions of the 2025 Grand Highlander are expected to arrive at U.S. dealers in December, but the entry-level LE trim won’t be available until the first half of next year.
