Mazda breaks record with double-digit sales growth in October

  • Mazda’s sales in October increased by 58.7%, benefiting from strong growth in various models in its product line.
  • Since the start of 2024, Mazda has moved 350,759 vehicles, an 18.5% increase from last year.
  • The CX-5 has the highest sales volume this year, with 10,166 units sold nationwide in October alone.

Mazda’s U.S. sales continue to soar, with demand for every model in its lineup growing significantly this year. October was another record-breaking month for the brand, and it shows no signs of slowing down.

In October alone, Mazda sold 37,307 vehicles in the United States. Although there were two more sales days this month than last year, that doesn’t fully capture Mazda’s 58.7% jump from October 2023 sales of 23,504 vehicles. Mazda’s year-to-date sales are equally impressive, with 350,759 vehicles sold to date, an increase of 18.5% from the 296,121 units sold in the same period last year.

What’s particularly interesting about Mazda’s 2024 sales success is that it can’t be attributed to strong demand for one or two models. Instead, sales of all the automaker’s models have increased significantly this year. Even the brand’s smaller models, such as the Mazda3 sedan and hatchback, saw sales jump 58.3%, with 3,490 units sold in October.

The CX-5 remains Mazda’s best-performing model, with 10,166 units sold last month, a 27.7% increase from the 7,963 units sold in the same period last year. In second place is the CX-50 with 7,771 units delivered. Compared to the 3,168 units sold in October 2023, this is a staggering 145.3% increase. The CX-30 became Mazda’s third best-selling model, with 7,216 units sold, an increase of 22.1% over last year.

Demand for the brand’s flagship CX-90 also increased by 40.7%, with 5,236 units registered last month. Mazda also recently launched the CX-70, which sold 2,517 units in October. Even the aging MX-5 Miata is still holding its own, with sales up 71.6% to 911 units, proving that the roadster’s allure hasn’t faded over time.

While all Mazda models performed well in October, two models saw sales decline in the first 10 months of the year. For example, MX-5 sales were down 17.4% from the beginning of the year, and CX-5 sales were down 7.8% to 114,221 units.
