— Nissan Z is recalling nearly 4,800 vehicles in the United States and Canada due to a problem with the front bumper wiring harness.
The recalled 2023-2024 Nissan Z vehicles are equipped with a connector for the right pedestrian detection sensor that may be reversed in the front bumper harness.
This prevents the pop-up hood from activating.
In January, Nissan technicians discovered an erroneous diagnostic trouble code (DTC) when a pedestrian collision detection sensor in the front bumper harness became disconnected.
Engineers investigated and discovered the cause and how the problem caused delayed activation or deactivation of the pop-up hood.
Nissan is not aware of any warranty claims or injuries related to the issue.
Once the Nissan Z recall letter is mailed out on December 12, 2024, Nissan dealers will replace the front bumper wiring harness.
Owners can call 800-867-7669 and inquire about Nissan Z recall number R24B6.
