Hero Splendor and Honda Shine share the top spot along with Hero HF Deluxe, with both cars recording higher year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter sales
Following our previous report on the top 10 two-wheeler sales and best-selling scooters for October 2024, we now evaluate the top-selling motorcycles in the same month. Sales in the two-wheeler segment improved during the festive season. Now, year-end shopping and deep discounts may further stimulate demand.
Top 10 Motorcycle Sales in October 2024 – Hero Splendor Ranked No. 1
Motorcycle sales increased to 10,96,816 units in October 2024, an increase of 13.85% from 9,63,419 units in October 2023. Sales increased by 1,33,397 units. The month-on-month sales volume also showed positive growth, increasing by 4.72% from September 2024’s sales of 10,47,356 units. Hero Splendor was the highest-selling motorcycle last month with sales of 3,91,612 units and a market share of 35.70%. This represents a year-on-year growth of 25.91% compared to 3,11,031 units sold in October 2023. The month-on-month sales volume also increased by 4.18% compared to 3,75,886 units sold in September 2024.
Honda Shine has also been a popular product in the motorcycle field. Sales volume in the past month was 1,96,288 units, a year-on-year increase of 19.99%, a month-on-month increase of 7.95%, and a market share of 17.90%. 1,63,587 units and 1,81,835 units were sold in October 2023 and September 2024 respectively.
The Hero HF Deluxe, a popular commuter motorcycle that is praised for its fuel efficiency and affordability, ranks third in the list. Sales volume stood at 1,24,343 units, up 5.63% from 1,17,719 units in October 2023. The month-on-month sales volume was also strong, growing 9.24% from 1,13,827 units in September 2024.
Bajaj Pulsar and Platina sales fall
Pulsar and Platina, two very popular models from the Bajaj Auto stable, follow closely behind. However, Pulsar sales declined, falling to 1,11,834 units in October 2024. A year-on-year decrease of 30.78% and a month-on-month decrease of 19.65%. 1,61,572 units and 1,39,182 units were sold in October 2023 and September 2024 respectively. Platina sales also fell 17.24% year-on-year to 61,689 units, compared with 74,539 units sold in October 2023. However, demand increased by 23.94% month-on-month, with 49,774 units sold compared to September 2024. Platina currently holds 5.62% market share.
TVS Raider, ranked sixth, sold 51,153 units last month, a year-on-year increase of 7.73% from the 47,483 units sold in October 2023, and the month-on-month sales increased 18.21% from the 43,274 units sold in September 2024. In October 2024, the company also launched the TVS Raider 125 iGO variant strengthening the company’s position in the premium 125cc bike segment.
Apache, owned by TVS, sold 50,097 units last month, a year-on-year increase of 27.84% and a month-on-month increase of 20.31%. 39,187 units and 41,640 units were sold in October 2023 and September 2024 respectively. Apache currently holds 4.57% market share.
Hero Xtreme 125R sold 39,735 units in the past month, a month-on-month growth of 5.90% from 37,520 units in September 2024. Followed by the Royal Enfield Classic 350, with sales of 38,297 units, a year-on-year increase of 20.60% and a month-on-month increase of 15.82%. Honda Unicorn’s sales also improved last month, reaching 31,768 units, a significant increase of 93.66% from the 16,404 units sold in the same month last year, while the month-on-month sales increased slightly by 1.32% from the 31,353 units sold in September 2024.
