Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has finally entered the Indian two-wheeler market with the Activa e and QC1 electric scooters. Both models will be launched in January 2025, with pre-orders available from January 1. Deliveries will take place in phases starting in February. In the first phase, the new Honda electric scooter will be available in three metropolitan cities: Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
The two-wheeler manufacturer offers a three-year or 50,000-km warranty on both electric scooters, with three free services in the first year and free roadside assistance in the first 12 months. The new Honda Activa e and QC1 electric scooters are available in five color schemes – Pearl Fire Black, Pearl Serenity Blue, Pearl Light Blue, Pearl Mist White and Matte Mist Silver Metallic.

The new Honda Activa electric scooter is available in two variants – Activa e and Honda RoadSync Duo. Both models are equipped with two 1.5kWh removable batteries and have a claimed range of 102 kilometers. Batteries can be replaced at Honda’s dedicated replacement stations. It’s important to note that the battery cannot be charged at home or elsewhere. The Activa e is also equipped with an electric motor with a maximum power of 6kW and a torque of 22Nm. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 kilometers per hour in 7.3 seconds. The new Honda electric scooter offers three riding modes – Eco, Standard and Sport.
The base Honda Activa e comes with a 5-inch TFT screen and full LED lighting. Features like 7-inch TFT screen, navigation, smartphone connectivity, maintenance alerts, call and music controls, tipping alert, real-time tracking and OTA updates are reserved for the top-end Honda RoadSync Duo models.
The Honda Activa electric scooter comes with telescopic forks and three-stage adjustable spring-loaded hydraulic monoshock suspension. It rides on 12-inch wheels with 90-section and 110-section tires on the front and rear axles respectively. The electric scooter has a ground clearance of 171 mm and a curb weight of 118 kg (base version) and 119 kg (top version).
Honda QC1
Honda QC1 electric scooter is equipped with a 1.5kWh stationary lithium-ion battery, which is said to have a range of up to 80 kilometers after a full charge. Its battery can be charged from 0% to 80% in 4.5 hours via a standard wall charger. The electric scooter is also equipped with a hub motor with a maximum power of 1.8kW. It has a top speed of 50 km/h. There are two riding modes – Standard and Eco. The new Honda QC1 offers 26 liters of under-seat storage space. Its suspension setup includes telescopic forks and a five-step adjustable hydraulic twin-shock rear unit.
Visually, the Honda QC1 electric scooter looks similar to the new Honda Activa electric scooter. However, the former misses out on the LED DRLs on the handlebar caps and has a simple design, with 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels paired with 90-section tires. In terms of configuration, the new Honda electric scooter is equipped with a 5.0-inch LCD screen, USB Type-C charging socket and full LED lighting. It has a ground clearance of 169 mm and a curb weight of 89.5 kg.
Estimated price
The Honda Activa e may be priced slightly higher than the QC1. The electric Activa is expected to be priced around Rs 1.30 lakh, while the QC1 is likely to be priced around Rs 1 lakh.
