Mahindra BE 6e is packed with features and technology and has an ARAI certified driving range of 682 km
Mahindra & Mahindra officially launched the BE 6e and XEV 9e today at the ‘Unlimit India’ event in Chennai, India, with prices starting at Rs 100. 18.9 million (ex-showroom). Both vehicles are built on Mahindra’s innovative INGLO platform, a key step in the brand’s electric vehicle journey, marking these models as the new flagship electric vehicles in Mahindra’s line-up.
The BE 6e (formerly BE 05) is a fully electric five-seat coupe SUV that embodies Mahindra’s commitment to a new design language and modern technology. It features a striking new ‘BE’ logo, stylish C-shaped LED DRLs around the headlights and a unique glass roof. The interior is equally eye-catching, with a driver-centric layout including a two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logo and dual-screen displays, providing a modern and functional touch.
The cabin is designed to deliver a premium experience, intuitive controls and a spacious feel. Technology features on the Mahindra BE 6e include wireless charging for your devices, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and ambient lighting for ambience. A Type-C charging port ensures fast connectivity, while ventilated and power-adjustable front seats ensure comfort.
The BE 6e is equipped with an electronic parking brake that includes an auto-hold function, auto-dimming IRVM, a set of selectable driving modes that provide a customizable driving experience, and a suite of ADAS driver assistance and safety technologies. As for performance, the Mahindra BE 6e comes with two battery pack options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh units.
Both versions are designed to support fast charging capabilities of up to 175 kW, enabling a 20% to 80% charge in just 20 minutes. This fast charging feature ensures long journeys are more manageable, providing convenience and efficiency for drivers on the go.
With these features and high-end technology, the flagship Mahindra BE 6e promises to be a strong competitor in India’s growing electric vehicle market. The EV has an overall ground clearance of 207 mm, battery ground clearance of 218 mm, and a length of 4,371 mm. Boot space and trunk capacity are 455 liters and 45 liters respectively.
These figures are better than some of the high-end luxury cars on sale in India. Mahindra BE 6e features brake-by-wire technology that helps it go from 100 kilometers per hour to zero in just 40 meters while increasing brake recuperation potential by 18 per cent, thereby improving range. The 79 kWh battery pack is ARAI certified and has a range of 682 km on a single charge, and Mahindra ensures a range of over 500 km per charge (AC on) while driving in metros. It must be noted that the price does not include charger and installation costs, and vehicles will be delivered starting from February to the end of March 2025.
