A Ford Mustang took a wrong turn and crashed into an Idaho home with a teenage passenger in it. The driver then fled the scene and faces serious charges including felony child injury, DUI and carrying a concealed weapon.

The bizarre incident occurred around 9 p.m. on July 18. Somehow, a white sixth-generation Ford Mustang 5.0 crashed through the wall of a home in Idaho and into the back room. Miraculously, no one was home at the time, but the situation quickly became more complicated.

According to witnesses, the driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. When the police arrived at the scene, they found only a teenage passenger in the Mustang and a loaded gun next to the driver’s seat.

Fortunately, the teenage passenger suffered only minor injuries in the accident. The driver, 27-year-old Matthew Jeffs of Emmett, was found a half-mile away and subsequently arrested by deputies.

Police took the suspect to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The 27-year-old was then booked into the Ada County Jail and is expected to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on August 1.

According to authorities, the suspect faces a slew of charges, including felony child injury, misdemeanor DUI, misdemeanor hit-and-run, and misdemeanor DUI with a concealed weapon. Bail was set at $50,000, Idaho News 6 reported. Hopefully, the teenage boy will have a speedy recovery.
