New mid-size electric SUVs to be launched in the Indian market soon, including Creta EV, Maruti e Vitara and Harrier EV
As 2025 approaches, carmakers are planning to launch new products in the Indian market. While electric vehicles are the talk of the town, new conventionally powered models are also on the horizon. In this article, we take a look at the all-new cars that are about to be launched in India.
1. New generation Honda Amaze
Honda Cars India will launch the new generation Amaze in the Indian market on December 4. The latest spy photos have revealed the true identity of this sedan. It will be powered by a modified version of the platform that underpins the City and Elevate SUVs. In terms of design, the new Amaze gets a new front fascia, updated alloy wheels and a revised rear profile. Inside the cabin, a new dashboard layout inspired by the Elevate SUV is part of the package. The new Amaze will retain the existing 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine with a power output of 90 bhp and a peak torque of 110 Nm.
2. Kia Silos
Syros is scheduled to be officially unveiled on December 19 and will sit above the Sonet in the brand’s product lineup. The latest teaser shared by Kia confirms that the new compact SUV will feature a panoramic sunroof. It will have an upright stance with a boxy design language, vertically stacked LED daytime running lights, wide window lines and flush door handles. The upcoming Kia Syros will feature both internal combustion and electric powertrains, and will be available with front-wheel drive. In terms of functionality, it is expected to be equipped with ADAS, ventilated seats and a 360-degree parking camera.

3. Hyundai Creta EV
Hyundai plans to launch the Creta EV in the Indian market early next year at the 2025 Auto Expo. The electric Creta will be equipped with a 45 kWh battery pack and is rated at an output of 138 bhp and a peak torque of 255 Nm. It will share the front-wheel drive setup with the latest generation Kona EV sold in international markets. The electric Creta, which has been spied testing several times on Indian roads, will share the design with the latest facelift model, albeit with EV-specific touches such as a closed front grille, EV badges inside and outside and aero-efficient alloy wheels.
4. Maruti Suzuki and Vitara
Suzuki e Vitara recently made its world premiere and will be officially unveiled at the 2025 Indian Auto Expo. Maruti Suzuki’s first electric car in the country will be produced at Suzuki’s plant in Gujarat. The length of the EV is 4,275 mm and the wheelbase is 2,700 mm. e Vitara is internally codenamed YY8 and is based on the newly born electric skateboard platform Heartect-e (codename: 40PL). Two battery packs will be available, a 49kWh and a 61kWh one, with the AWD model producing up to 184 bhp and peak torque of 300 Nm.

5. Tata Harrier Electric Car
After launching the Curvv EV, Tata Motors will add yet another new electric SUV to its lineup. An electric version of the Harrier has been in development for a long time and we will see the final production version early next year. The Harrier EV will be based on a heavily modified electric-specific version of the current OMEGA-Arc platform. The SUV is expected to come with a 60 kWh battery pack and is said to have a range of around 500 kilometers. Design-wise, it will be very familiar to the current Harrier, however, it will have some electric-specific elements. It also has the option of a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup.
