The Skoda Kylaq goes head-to-head with the Hyundai Venue in the compact SUV segment. While the Venue stands out with its diverse powertrain options, the Kylaq stands out by offering richer features and a more premium experience. We have compared the Kylaq with the Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Now it’s time to compare this sub-4 meter SUV on paper with another strong competitor, the Hyundai Venue.
Skoda Kylaq and Hyundai Venue: Powertrain
Powering the new Kylaq is a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 114 hp of peak power and 178 Nm of maximum torque. Transmission is performed by either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed torque converter gearbox. The Skoda SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 10.5 seconds.

In comparison, the Venue offers a choice of three engines: a 1.5-litre diesel (114bhp/250Nm), a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (118bhp/172Nm) and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol (82bhp/115Nm).
Transmission options include 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT. The Hyundai SUV beats its Skoda counterpart here with a wide range of gearbox and powertrain options.
Skoda Kylaq and Hyundai Venue: Dimensions
Kylaq’s dimensions are 2 mm taller and 13 mm wider than the Venue. It also has a 66mm longer wheelbase and a larger cargo space of 96 liters. However, the SUVs are the same length.

Skoda Kylaq with Hyundai Venue: Features
Both SUVs are packed with safety and comfort features. Unique to the Kylaq, however, are larger 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, a digital driver display, six airbags (standard) and 6 power seat. Seats are ventilated. On the other hand, the venue maintained its advantage over its opponents with air purifiers and level 1 ADAS safety equipment. Knight’s version of the venue includes an additional dash cam.
Skoda Kylaq vs Hyundai Venue: Price
The Kylaq is priced between Rs 7.89 lakh and Rs 14.40 lakh, while the Hyundai Venue starts at Rs 7.94 lakh for the base variant and goes up to Rs 13.38 lakh for the top-end version.

The Kylaq is a more affordable option, with the base model priced at Rs 5,000 less than the starting price of the Hyundai SUV.
