Nearly a month after Maruti Suzuki launched the fourth-generation Dzire sedan in India, Honda India has launched the all-new Amaze. The new Honda Amaze, with launch prices starting from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom), will have similar looks to the City sedan and Elevate SUV, as well as minimalist interiors with the latest technology. However, the mechanical components are the same as its predecessor. The third-generation Amaze is a step up from the older Amaze, which is still available in the country at an ex-showroom price of Rs 7.63 lakh (starting price). Here’s a closer look at how the new Amaze compares to the second-generation model:
Honda Amaze – old and new comparison: engine, mileage
Under the skin, almost everything is the same on the updated Amaze. That said, the engine now features an updated fuel injection ECU.
Honda said the fuel economy of the new sedan is 18.65 km/liter for the manual version and 19.46 km/liter for the automatic version. The automatic version saves 1.16 km/l over the previous version.

Design-wise, the third-generation Amaze is a far cry from its predecessor, which had a curvy exterior and design cues borrowed from the Accord Hybrid. The new Amaze has bold and upright styling with a larger grille, dual LED projector lights, integrated LED daytime running lights and thicker chrome strips. The side profile features new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, as well as more flared wheel arches and sharp character lines. The front fascia is inspired by Elevate, while the rear design is inspired by City. The latter features new red wrap-around taillights with different lighting elements. The front and rear bumpers have also been revised.
Honda Amaze – New vs. Old: Interior, Features
Like the exterior, the interior of the new Honda Amaze also borrows styling cues from the Elevate SUV. In addition to the multi-function steering wheel, it also features a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7.0-inch MID. The HVAC controls, two cup holders, and USB Type-C charging port are also derived from the SUV. There’s also an 8.0-inch freestanding touchscreen and smaller 7.0-inch integrated infotainment system, as well as a dashboard with textured finishes. The dashboard of the previous model had silver accents. Speaking of which, the new version continues to offer a dual-tone interior theme in black and beige.
The new Amaze also comes with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, 6 speakers (2 more speakers), connected car technology (over 35 features) and wireless charging. Cruise control, power outside mirrors, automatic headlights and engine start/stop switch are all carried over from its predecessor.
