The filing doesn’t show battery or range figures, but in Europe the Sealion 7 can be had with an 82.5kWh or 91.3kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery.
Dual-motor all-wheel drive models have a WLTP range of up to 502 kilometers with the larger battery and DC fast charging of up to 230kW, while WLTP range with the smaller battery ranges from 456 kilometers to 482 kilometers with rechargeable to 150 kW.
In China, Hiace 7 is available with 71.8kWh or 80.64kWh lithium iron phosphate batteries.
The local-spec Sealion 7 will come with either 19-inch or 20-inch wheels, while braked towing capacity is claimed to be 750kg for rear-wheel drive and 1500kg for all-wheel drive.
Hiace 7 is 4830 mm long, 1925 mm wide, 1620 mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2930 mm.
This makes it 79mm longer, 53mm wider and 4mm taller than the Model Y, with a wheelbase that is 40mm longer.
Technically, the brand already has two mid-size SUVs in Australia.
However, the Atto 3 is a fairly small electric SUV, while the Sealion 6 is only sold as a plug-in hybrid here – although electric versions are available in some overseas markets.
