- Some Jeep dealers are already offering discounts of up to $3,000 on the Wagoneer S Launch Edition.
- The EPA has announced the range of this model, with a maximum range of 303 miles.
- It’s expected to launch early next year, with pricing starting at $70,200.
The Dodge Charger Daytona isn’t the only electric car to be discounted ahead of its launch, Jeep dealers are in a similar situation. They’re gearing up to launch the performance-focused Wagoneer S, which will start at $70,200 with a destination charge of $1,795.
That’s an astronomical amount, and we’ve previously noted that the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT starts at $54,995 with a destination charge of $1,995. Despite being much cheaper, this electric pony car can be equipped with a $995 performance upgrade that makes it faster than the competition.

While these models are aimed at different consumers, Jeep looks like a tough sell. Some dealers seem to acknowledge this, as they are already offering discounts on electric vehicles.
High-performance Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Delaware, Ohio is advertising two Wagoneer S Launch Editions with a discounted price of $1,000. This lowers their price tags to $70,995 and $71,590.
In Minnesota, there’s a $3,000 discount on the first-run version of the Bloomington Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram. That means they’ll cost between $68,995 and $69,590.
This is exactly the opposite of what you’d expect at launch, and the discount could hint at sluggish demand. Of course, only a few examples have been listed so far, so it’s difficult to draw any firm conclusions.
However, this seems to be a trend for Stellantis, as some Dodge dealers are already discounting the Charger Daytona. As we reported last week, one dealer had an MSRP of $3,713.
While that may change when dealers take delivery, the Wagoneer S is based on the STLA Large platform and features a 100.5 kWh battery pack. It powers a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS) and 617 lb-ft (836 Nm) of torque. This enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.4 seconds before reaching a top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h).
It’s also worth noting that the EPA has quietly released ratings for the Wagoneer S . On Falken tires, the crossover has a range of 303 miles (488 kilometers). Range drops to 270 miles (435 km) with Pirelli tires, which will apparently be optional in the future. This is a significant difference, which may be the case with high-performance rubber versus low-rolling-resistance tires.
