The new Kia Syros has made its global debut, with its boxy design inspired by the larger EV9. The car will be available for pre-order on January 3, with deliveries expected to begin in early February 2025. The Syros comes with many premium features and is the brand’s second model in the sub-4 meter SUV segment after the Sonet. It comes in six different variants: HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and HTX+ (O). If you’re considering a Syros for your next purchase, here’s everything you need to know about the new model.
Kia Syros: exterior and interior
The Kia Syros gets vertically mounted three-lamp LED headlights, LED DRLs, a kink beltline near the C-pillar, square wheel arches, 17-inch alloy wheels and large window panels. It stands out with its dramatic shoulder line, flush door handles and body-colored B-pillars, all of which give it a sophisticated feel. L-shaped LED taillights and a flat tailgate complete the overall appearance.

Inside, Kia uses a two-tone black and gray theme with subtle design cues from the EV9 and Fiesta. The layout is different from the Sonet and Seltos, which makes it more distinctive. The most notable highlight are the rear seats, which offer ventilation, leatherette upholstery and the added comfort of sliding and reclining functions.
Other features include a two-spoke steering wheel, two 12.3-inch screens (one for the infotainment system and the other for the driver display), dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a 5-inch screen between the two displays. for climate management), a four-way power driver’s seat, eight speakers, front and rear seat ventilation, a Harman Kardon sound system, remote-controlled power windows and a wireless phone charger.
Kia Syros: Powertrain
One of the engine options for the Syros is a 1.5-litre diesel producing 114bhp and 250Nm of torque, mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

The other option is a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 118bhp and 172Nm and either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. Note that the automatic version comes with paddle shifters.
