Tata Harrier.ev and Tata Sierra.ev will be among the largest electric vehicles to debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 next month
India’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer Tata Passenger Electric Vehicles Limited (TPEML) plans to debut two blockbuster models – Harrier.ev and Sierra.ev at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. The former will indirectly compete with Mahindra’s XEV 9e SUV coupe, while the latter will compete with Hyundai’s Creta EV, which will make its debut at the same auto show.
Tata Harrier.ev will be launched in March 2025 and will be the first electric vehicle based on a further modified version of Jaguar Land Rover’s D8 platform, with an appearance very similar to the ICE Tata Harrier. It should feature some subtle changes over its donor model, such as a fully covered upper grille area, a more elegant lower grille, new aerodynamically designed 18-inch wheels, and unique bumpers.
The heavily redesigned D8 platform allowed TPEML to make the Harrier.ev’s floor completely flat and provide even more comfort. Other changes to the interior may include revised software for the dashboard and infotainment system, unique interior trim, and unique trim elements.

TPEML is likely to offer the Tata Harrier.ev in single-motor FWD and dual-motor AWD configurations. The latter has been field tested and is expected to offer multiple terrain modes such as snow, sand, mud and rock crawling. No word on motor output, charging power, or driving range. However, considering the competition location, its cruising range after a full charge should exceed 500 kilometers.
Scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2025, Tata Sierra.ev is inspired by the much-loved 3-door Tata Sierra sold from the early 1990s to the early 2000s. It will have an upright, boxy body and high ground clearance, giving it a true SUV stance. The body-colored B-pillars and transparent C-pillars will help it replicate the styling of the three-door Tata Sierra, with the rear window and quarter glass looking like one seamless panel. It will be a regular five-door model with easy access for rear-seat passengers.

Tata Sierra.ev will feature an understated interior, a minimalist dashboard with integrated slender air-conditioning vents and a stylish cockpit display. It should come with a four-spoke steering wheel, RGB ambient lighting and a climate control system with most functions operated via capacitive touch buttons. Specs-wise, Mom has the final say, but single-motor front-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations are expected. The new ICE Tata Sierra is likely to be launched in 2026 with petrol and diesel engine options.
