The electric version of the Punch is the first model built by the automaker on a new second-generation electric vehicle platform called “acti.ev.” It is available in five main variants (Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered and Empowered+) priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.29 lakh (ex-showroom).

In terms of features, the Punch EV is packed with cutting-edge technology including ventilated front seats, cruise control, connected car technology, dual 10.25-inch screens, automatic climate control, wireless charger, air purifier and electric sunroof (optional). For safety, the Tata SUV offers ISOFIX mounts, six airbags, three-point seat belts on all seats and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function. For the uninitiated, the Tata Punch EV scored 5 stars in the Bharat NCAP crash test. The adult occupant protection score was 31.46 points (out of 32 points), and the child occupant protection score was 45 points (out of 49 points).

Mechanically, the electric SUV is available in two versions: mid-range (MR) and long-range (LR). The MR is equipped with a 25kWh battery and has a range of 315 kilometers (MIDC), while the LR has a 35kWh battery and has a further range of 421 kilometers (MIDC). Both battery packs feature permanent magnet synchronous motors, but the MR version produces 81bhp, while the LR version offers a more powerful 120bhp.

The Windsor EV is currently priced between Rs 13.50 lakh and Rs 15.50 lakh. These prices include battery cost and are ex-showroom. With the battery-as-a-service (BaaS) option, the Windsor EV costs between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). In this case, the price of the battery pack is separate and you will have to pay a battery subscription fee of Rs 3.5 per km.

MG EV is available in three models (Excite, Essence and Exclusive) and is equipped with a 38kWh IP67-rated lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. This configuration allows a range of 332 kilometers. The battery powers a permanent magnet synchronous motor that delivers 134bhp and 220Nm of torque. With a 45kW DC fast charger, the battery can be fully charged in just 55 minutes.

In terms of features, Windsor EV is equipped with an 8.8-inch digital instrument panel, a 15.6-inch “Grandview” touch screen, airline lounge rear seats that recline 135 degrees, a leather-wrapped 2-spoke steering wheel, 256-color LED ambient lighting, 9-speaker Infinity audio system. It has six airbags, a 360-degree surround view camera, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function for safety.

Another electric model from Tata on the list is the Curvv, which is priced between Rs 17.49 lakh and Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). After Punch EV, Curvv is the second model built on Tata’s acti.ev platform. It comes in five variants: Creative, Accomplished, Accomplished+ S, Empowered+ and Empowered+ A. The SUV Coupe comes with a liquid-cooled permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMS) and two battery options (45kWh and 55kWh). The 45kWh model produces 148bhp and the 55kWh model produces 165bhp. However, both configurations produce the same 215Nm of torque. The 45kWh and 55kWh battery packs have a driving range of 502 kilometers and 585 kilometers respectively.

Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e are based on the brand’s new INGLO platform and are standout electric SUVs in the market. While the two share the same powertrain, their interior, exterior design and features differ. These models come in several variants, including Pack 1, Pack 2 and Pack 3. Currently, Mahindra has announced the pricing for the Pack 1 configuration, with the BE 6 priced at Rs 1.89 million and the XEV 9e priced at Rs 2.19 million (excluding taxes). -showroom).

The XEV 9e and BE 6 are available with two battery options: 59kWh (227bhp) and 79kWh (282bhp). The BE 6 has a range of 682 kilometers, while the XEV 9e has a range of 656 kilometers with a larger battery. Both come with rear-wheel drive, with an all-wheel-drive option expected.

Inside, the XEV 9e features three 12.3-inch screens on the dashboard – one for the driver display, one for the touchscreen and one for the passenger display. In comparison, the BE 6 comes with dual screens. Both models come with a wireless phone charger, ventilated power front seats, an augmented reality (AR) head-up display, a panoramic sunroof and multi-zone air conditioning. For safety, the Mahindra SUV comes with 7 airbags (standard), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Electronic Parking Brake, 360-degree camera, ISOFIX child seat mounts and Level 2 ADAS.

The Atto 3 comes with a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen, wireless phone charging, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, power front seats, panoramic sunroof and automatic air conditioning. It comes with electronic stability control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), 360-degree camera and seven airbags. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are available exclusively on the top-spec Superior model.
