- The car features a white and blue paint theme inspired by the 1964 F1 car driven by John Surtees.
- F1 drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc recently received the keys to their own SP3.
- This sexy supercar is powered by the brand’s highly regarded 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine.
Although the Ferrari F80 is not yet available on the market, many believe it is not a suitable successor to the iconic LaFerrari, mainly because it features a powerful V6 engine assisted by three electric motors that sounds disappointingly muted, contrary to the brand’s iconic V12 engine. Some believe the Daytona SP3 should be marketed as the brand’s latest flagship supercar, and after seeing the one owned by Piero Ferrari, it’s easy to see why.
Like the LaFerrari, the Daytona SP3 is an ultra-limited edition model powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine. It’s built around the LaFerrari Aperta chassis and is undoubtedly one of the most eye-catching Ferraris to launch in recent years.

This one is a little more special than most. Piero Ferrari is Enzo’s only surviving son and owns 10% of the Italian brand. When designing his Daytona SP3, he looked back at the history of the brand founded by his father and drew inspiration from the car driven by John Surtees to victory in the 1964 F1 Championship. He was also inspired by a one-off white and blue 250 LM that entered service in the 1960s.
Piero’s SP3 is mostly white, but has a dark blue stripe on the body. Blue accents run across the rear fascia and everything looks spectacular. Ferrari has yet to release any detailed images showing the car’s cabin, but a video of Piero driving around Fiorano shows the car equipped with red leather seats and lots of exposed carbon fiber trim.
Maranello has launched several Daytona SP3 models in recent months. In September, Ferrari Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc got the keys to his own SP3, which is painted in matte black with some red and white accents to represent his native Monaco. A few weeks ago, Carlos Sainz Jr., who is leaving Ferrari at the end of the 2025 season and will drive for Williams next year, also received a custom SP3 with matte paint. Light silver with red accents.
