Batchelor Mountain, located southwest of Bend, Oregon, is celebrating its earliest ski season in 26 years, with its trails officially opening on November 15, 2024, a full two weeks ahead of schedule. If planners want to get involved, consider gathering for a day of team-building activities in the powder snow, or hosting an in-person event at a nearby venue.
The closest venue, Mount Bachelor Ski Resort, is located on the north side of the mountain and offers a dedicated on-site events team that works with planners to arrange events ranging from intimate corporate retreats to large multi-day festivals. It contains two base lodges that host activities, with group activities ranging from skiing, dog sledding and snowshoeing. There are no overnight accommodations on the mountain, but lodging can be found in nearby Bend.

Attendees can then ride the Cascades East Transit Mount Bachelor Ski Bus, which departs from the Hawthorne Station (located across the Bend Parkway from the hotel) to Mount Bachelor Ski Resort, which takes approximately 30 minutes.
Another option is the Campfire Hotel, which is located next to Bend’s Hawthorne Station and has 100 rooms and 1,000 square feet of designated meeting space, along with other rentals such as a pool and fire pit area. For larger gatherings, the Riverhouse Lodge, a conference and event center located just north of downtown Bend, offers 41,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space accommodating up to 1,600 attendees. Other notable venues in Bend include Aspen Hall, 10 Barrel Brewing Eastside, the tasting room at Willamette Valley Vineyards, the High Desert Museum, and more.
