Syros HTK (O) second base model full details, demo
Shipments to dealers have begun ahead of Syros’ launch. A total of 6 trims are available – HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and HTX+ (O). Let’s take a look at the details of Kia Syros’ HTK(O) No. 2 base model. Talking about the dimensions first, the Syros is the same length as the Sonet (3,995 mm). However, it is 15 mm wider (1,805 mm) and 38 mm taller (1,680 mm) taller. The wheelbase is 2,550 mm, which is 50 mm longer than the Sonet.
The Kia Syros also offers a larger luggage space of 465 liters, which is 80 liters more than the Sonet. The Syros even beats the Seltos in dimensions such as width (5 mm wide) and height (35 mm high). Boot space is 32 liters more than the Seltos. The Kia Syros has a ground clearance of 205 mm, which is an advantage in off-road environments.
Appearance features
The silhouette of Syros is full of muscles, which is completely different from other SUVs under 4 meters. The thick body panels make this SUV look like an armored vehicle. Some of the key features include a unique closed grille design, a prominent lower grille and a rugged-style bumper section with a silver-finished skid plate. Another distinguishing feature is the vertically stacked lighting elements. The HTK (O) version comes with Ice Cube halogen headlights, flush door handles and side door trim with silver metallic accents.
The HTK (O) Turbo Petrol version comes with R15 steel wheels with full coverage. Users can get R16 crystal-cut alloy wheels in the 1.5-litre diesel variant. A power sunroof is available in Syros HTK (O) trim. Other features include a shark fin antenna, integrated spoiler, high-mounted brake lights, vertically stacked taillights and a silver rear skid plate.
Interior and equipment list
Syros features a refined and sophisticated interior that focuses on enhancing a sense of spaciousness and comfort. Many advanced features are available as standard. For example, there’s a large 12.3-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity and a rearview camera with dynamic guidance. Additionally, there is a Type-C charging port, steering-mounted audio controls, electric power steering, and rear AC vents. However, the HTK(O) model does not have automatic air conditioning.
Those who choose Syros HTK (O) have access to electrically adjustable and folding ORVMs, driver’s seat height adjustment and passenger side vanity mirror. Kia offers 20 standard safety features on all models. It includes front, side and curtain airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill start assist control and front and rear parking sensors.
Powertrain options
While the Kia Syros HTK (O) is available in turbo-petrol and diesel engine options, transmission options are limited to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine produces 120PS and 172PS, while the diesel engine produces 115PS and 250Nm. Higher variants of the Syros come with 7DCT (petrol engine) and 6AT (diesel engine) automatic transmission options.
