Jorge Martin’s title dreams suffered a major blow at the German Grand Prix as he lost the title to rival and defending champion Francesco Bagnaia by 10 points. The dramatic change sets the stage for an exciting second half of the MotoGP season. As MotoGP returns from its summer break, the historic Silverstone circuit will host the British Grand Prix, which will be the 10th round of the 2024 championship and the 75th anniversary of the sport. Bagnaia leads by a narrow margin and must defend his position against a fierce battle from his Ducati team-mate. Martin will aim to retake the championship lead, while Marc Márquez and Enea Bastianini are ready to exploit any slip-ups. The possibility of a Ducati triple crown adds extra excitement to the British Grand Prix, which promises to be a fierce battle for the top spot.

MotoGP: Silverstone
Silverstone has become an important part of the MotoGP season since returning to the calendar in 2010. The circuit is renowned for its challenging layout, with high-speed corners and a length of 5.9 kilometres making it a favourite among fans and riders alike.
While the circuit’s combination of long straights, tight turns and technical sections usually makes for thrilling close racing, a new dynamic is coming for the 2023 season. The start line has been moved from the National Pit Straight to the Hamilton Straight as part of the circuit’s return to its original ‘wing’ configuration, presenting new challenges for drivers and teams.
Despite Silverstone’s origins as a WWII airfield, its relatively flat terrain belies its difficulty. Iconic sections such as Copse, Maggots-Becketts-Chapel and Stowe continue to test riders and machines to their limits.
