McLaren has renewed the contract of Team Principal Andrea Stella, highlighting the team’s rapid development this season. Under Stella’s leadership, McLaren has become a strong championship contender. Since taking the helm in 2022, the team has won two Grand Prix, 18 podiums and a sprint race. McLaren now has 10 consecutive podiums and has closed the gap to championship leaders Red Bull to 42 points. Stella joined McLaren in 2015 and played a major role in the team’s resurgence. In 2019, he was promoted to Executive Director of Racing and then appointed Team Principal, consolidating his reputation as a strategic and results-oriented leader.

Andrea Stella said: “I’m honoured to be part of the McLaren Formula One Team and I’m privileged to continue in my role as Team Principal. We’ve made great progress over the past year and a half but we still have a lot of work to do to stay at the top of the pack and it’s an exciting challenge. Success comes from working as a team and I enjoy my role, which allows me to help bring out the talent of individuals and encourage people to work together to achieve our goals as a team.

F1: The Constructors’ Championship Race in 2024
McLaren made an impressive comeback to challenge Red Bull in the Constructors’ Championship. The MCL38, which had undergone major upgrades, showed a clear performance improvement at the Miami Grand Prix. Unlike Red Bull, which focused on maintaining its lead, McLaren benefited from the consistent points of both drivers. This advantage reduced the gap with Red Bull to just 42 points.
The fight for the Constructors’ Championship will intensify as the season progresses and whether McLaren can maintain their momentum will be crucial to their title hopes.
