New Hyundai Creta Hybrid

Hyundai Creta is a star performer for the Indian Korean automaker. The mid-sized SUV was first launched in 2015 and received its first mid-life update in 2018, followed by a generational transformation in 2020 and a makeover in 2024. In an effort to further boost its sales, Hyundai Motor India will launch a new generative model in 2027. Let’s take a look at all the key information we’ve known so far and what we expect from the brand new CRETA.

Why mix?

Codenamed SX3, the new Hyundai CRETA is expected to arrive with a powerful hybrid powertrain. Previous media reports said South Korean automakers aim to introduce hybrid vehicles in India while expanding their power lineup. The upcoming hybrid range may include Verna, Creta, Alcazar and Tucson.

The reason for the shift to hybrid technology is likely to be the upcoming BS7 emission specifications in 2027. Upgrading a diesel engine to meet new emission standards will cost more than the BS6 upgrade. Therefore, it makes sense for medium-sized vehicles to remain competitive.

The new Hyundai CRETA hybrid will be equipped with a 1.5-liter petrol engine, electric motor and a powerful hybrid system. So far, the powertrain performance has not been obtained.

More features, improved design:

The current Hyundai CRETA is one of the well-equipped premium vehicles in its category. As generations change, its material quality and equipment level will be further improved. Major design changes are also expected.

Creta Electric Facelift startup timeline:

The report further points out that Hyundai Creteta Electric will also receive its first midlife update in 2027. The electric SUV started selling last month at a starting price of Rs 1,799 crore. The lineup has five trims – executives, smart, smart (O), quality and excellence.
