Orlando welcomes the first new theme park in decades

Universal Epic Universe will debut in May this year. ||Visit Orlando

This year, over 25 new experiences have emerged in Orlando, Florida, including the addition of a new theme park, the first in decades.

“This is the first time in 25 years, on the verge of welcoming a brand new theme park, which is a milestone that highlights our position as the highest destination for global travelers this year,” said Casandra Matej, President and CEO of Visit Orlando.

The Universal Epic Universe will open on May 22 at Universal Orlando Resort and includes five immersive worlds within its range: Harry Potter-Magic, the Wizard World of Super Nintendo World, How to train your Burke Dragon, the Dark Universe and the Celestial Park. Universal Studios Orlando Resort offers team-building activities, group dining and many events in its parks and hotels. Its LOEWS conference complex, including the connected Loews Sapphire Falls Resort and Loews Royal Pacific Resort, offers 247,000 square feet of meeting space and 2,000 rooms.

Additionally, the iconic Blue Man group show will return to the city on April 3 and be produced for comedy threes in a brand new theater in Icon Park. Available for groups of 10 or more groups of groups to enjoy discounts, Icon Park’s event venue offers products including an outdoor lawn space with a capacity of 1,000 participants, up to 5,000 obstacle party options, and a park acquisition up to 10,000.

Four new resorts will also be opened this year. Universal Stella Nova Resort opened in late January and in late February, Universal Terra Luna added 1,500 rooms to Orlando Universal Orlando Resort’s hotel portfolio. Loews Hotel Universal Helios Grand Hotel will open in May for the new Universal Epic Universe park, as well as 4,648 square feet of flexible event space and dining. Located in the bustling International Avenue area, Villatel Orlando Resort will open in mid-March and consists of 526 apartments, villas and manors, deviating from traditional hotels. Its location near Kia Center, Orange County Convention Center, and the famous golf course makes it a convenient choice for planners.
