How to get this Australian Grand Prix free McLaren

Jack Daniel wants you to ride in the 2025 Australian Grand Prix in the funniest and most responsible way.

It invites people to enter McLaren, driving for free from Crown Melbourne on the South Shore to Espy in St Kilda and vice versa.

While you won’t drive McLaren (which is just a passenger car), you’ll book for you and others.

That’s because you’ll be “racing” your partner in another car and come with the McLarens kit.

Free rides are held every day from 12pm to 10pm from Friday, March 14th to Sunday, March 16th. You can register one on Jack’s ride website, but the slots are limited.

Each ride is worth between $250 and $300, and the company will give away about 100 rides.

Only those 18 and older can enjoy Jack’s journey, probably because every passenger gets a free Jack Daniel cocktail.

Jack Daniel’s will also set up a “dedicated race headquarters” in Espy in St Kilda, which includes a driver’s suit and a replica F1 race car, live music performances, and a large number of black label drinks.

Jack’s rides and Jack’s garage are an activation of the Whiskey Company’s partnership with McLaren Formula One, with Jack’s riding experience debuting in 2024.

McLaren is not the only carmaker to celebrate sports sponsorship, and Kia offers free electric SUV trips to tennis fans for the Australian Open.

Kia continues the program at this year’s Australian Open.
