Hyundai’s March 2025 sales were 51,820

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced its March 2025 sales results and full fiscal year 2024-25 fiscal year, reaffirming its strong position India’s second largest passenger car manufacturer. The company’s total sales in March 2025 were 67,320 units, showing a 2.6% increase in 65,601 units sold in March 2024.

Total sales in March 2025 were 51,820 units, just below 53,001 units in March last year, resulting in a year-on-year decline of 2.23%. However, exports increased significantly by 23.02%, with 15,500 freight vehicles, while 12,600 in March 2024 increased. The company also recorded an MOM growth rate of 8.58% in domestic sales, compared with February 2025.

2024-25 Property – 762,000 cars sold

HMIL reported total sales of 7,62,052 units throughout the fiscal year, down 2.03% from 7,77,876 units in the fiscal year 2023-24. Domestic sales in FY25 were 5,98,666 units, witnessing a 2.61% decline, while exported goods grew at 0.14% to hit 1,63,386 units, reaffirming Hyundai’s position as the largest passenger car exporter in India.

Comment on the performance, Mr. Tarun Garg, full-time director and chief operating officer of HMIL“HMIL’s second-largest passenger car OEM in FY24-25 continues to consolidate our position in India, thanks to the unrivaled trust in the Hyundai brand by our customers. Our multi-purpose SUV lineup is getting stronger and with the launch of our Hyundai Creta Electric, our Ministry of Finance has strengthened its augmentation based on its popularity as India’s first SUV with sales of 52,898 units in January in FY24-25.

The Hyundai SUV portfolio played a key role in overall performance, accounting for 68.5% of domestic sales in FY25. The company also celebrated the milestone of 2.5 million SUV sales and 1.5 million CRETA units, with cumulative sales (domestic + export). It is worth noting that in the 25th fiscal year of the fourth quarter (Jan-Mar) Hyundai Crete Tower is India’s best-selling SUV52,898 units sold.

With a strong product portfolio, growing exports and the latest new products entering the electric mobile space, Hyundai is aiming to keep momentum in the fiscal year ahead.
