Grand opening in Spain
Bentley has proven itself once again. They launched the new Continental GT and GTC models in Spain. These cars are so finely crafted that you can’t deny the automotive art they represent. The GT and GTC are the perfect balance of vintage elegance and sophisticated technology. Let’s see how these cars are the pinnacle of luxury.
Bentley exterior: a fusion of tradition and modernity
- New look: Bentley believes that beauty lies in the eyes. They have said goodbye to the twin headlights, although they were once iconic. With stylish daytime running lights, the oval lamp clusters are now stylish and unique. This design is inspired by the Bentley Batur to tap into the familiar nostalgia associated with it.
- Diamond Grille: The new grille uses a complex diamond pattern to accommodate the functional combination of radar and camera to achieve ADAS functions.
- Sculptural outline: The stance of these cars is as elegant as Simba from The Lion King, created by their long hood, wide rear fenders and 22-inch rims. There is a beautifully integrated spoiler on the trunk lid.
- Elegant taillights: The oval shape of the taillights is retained, and the brake lights are integrated into the windshield, making the taillights larger and more structurally reasonable. This is a luxurious finishing touch.
Bentley interior: the realm of luxury
- Bentley decided to retain elements such as the accordion-style air vent controls and the triple rotating center console, which can be switched between analog dials, a touchscreen, or a matching instrument panel.
- Tech-savvy: There’s a “surround awareness” display in the latest ADAS. You also get built-in apps like Spotify, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
- Luxury Seats: The seats are configured as 2+2 and include diamond quilted leather seats. They also offer a ‘Speed’ variant embroidery for the seats. The upholstery colour is customisable and is available in green and orange.
Under the hood: Redefining power and efficiency
- Hybrid V8: The biggest change is the switch to a hybrid V8 engine, replacing the legendary W12. This 4.0-liter engine is paired with an electric motor to deliver 782 horsepower and a mighty 1,000 Nm of torque.
- Performance: It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of 335 km/h. Its pure electric range is up to 80 km.
- Braking and suspension: Huge 420 mm front and 380 mm rear discs ensure excellent braking, while air springs and twin-valve shock absorbers provide a smooth ride.
GoMechanic’s take: A fusion of tradition and innovation
Here’s why we’re excited about the new Bentley Continental GT and GTC:
- Environmentally friendly power supply: If you have been concerned about your carbon footprint, then the Hybrid V8 is the way to go. Better mileage and lower emissions make this car an eco-friendly choice.
- Advanced security: When it comes to safety, Bentley’s new ADAS suite is top-notch. It provides real-time vehicle monitoring, giving you on-screen safety assurance.
- Luxurious connection: Features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and a pre-conditioned cabin ensure luxury and convenience go hand in hand.
Rethinking true luxury
The characteristics of the Bentley Continental GT and GTC are so real that these cars do not need exaggerated narratives. The luxury of these cars is not defined by exaggerated words such as premium and exquisite. It is defined by the details of the car’s functions. The elegance of these functions should be stated with simple facts, not flashy gimmicks.
