— Cracked and bent wheels on Chevrolet Corvettes have been a problem for some owners, so GM has announced Corvette Wheels Limited Special Compensation Program.
Vehicles covered by the Corvette Flat Tire Compensation Program include 2015 to 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 cars and 2017 to 2019 Corvette Grand Sport cars.
The program is available to former and current owners and lessees, but certain conditions must be met.
You must provide documentation that the cracked or bent wheel was not caused by impact damage or road hazard damage.
GM said the amount of reimbursement or other alternative remedies offered under the program depend on whether the repair or replacement was performed by a GM dealer, the type of documentation provided and when the repair or replacement occurred.
Current and former Corvette owners and lessees can submit two different types of documentation to prove that a cracked or bent wheel was not caused by impact damage or road hazard damage.
2015 to 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 or 2017 to 2019 Corvette Grand Sport customers can use service records, receipts or invoices to prove that a bent or cracked wheel was repaired or replaced.
However, the documents must “clearly” state there is no impact damage or road hazard damage “such as cracks, punctures, cuts, snags and breaks caused by impacts with potholes, curbs or other objects, or words to the same effect.”
Customers of 2015 to 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 or 2017 to 2019 Corvette Grand Sport can also submit a sworn statement from the owner or lessee under penalty of perjury and “certify that the vehicle was repaired or replaced due to a bend or crack and that to the best understanding, knowledge and belief of the owner or lessee, the repair or replacement of the wheel was due to a cause other than impact damage or road hazard damage.”
However, according to the Corvette Wheels Program:
“However, if there is a service record, receipt or invoice from GM, an authorized GM dealer or any other entity that repairs or maintains your vehicle that specifically states that the wheel repair or replacement was due to impact damage or road hazard damage (such as cracks, punctures, cuts, snags and breaks caused by pothole strikes, curb strikes or other objects) or words to the same effect, you will not be eligible to receive any compensation under the program.”
If you paid to repair or replace a bent or cracked wheel on a 2015-2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 or 2017-2019 Corvette Grand Sport during the 4-year/48,000-mile extended warranty period from the start date of the original warranty, and you submit proof of payment and supporting evidence from a GM dealer, you will be reimbursed for 100% of your out-of-pocket expenses for the wheel repair or replacement, regardless of whether the wheel repair or replacement was performed at a GM dealer.
“However, if the out-of-pocket expenses exceed the cost of repair or replacement of the basic OEM (original equipment manufacturer) wheel, the reimbursement amount will be limited to the cost of repair or replacement of the basic OEM wheel.” — Corvette Wheel Program

Because of previous class-action lawsuits regarding cracked Corvette wheels, CarComplaints.com asked GM if the Corvette Wheel Limited Special Compensation Program is related to the lawsuit settlement, but the automaker has yet to respond.
