This custom 1951 Mercury convertible The car on display at the AutoHunter Cinema is powered by a 1949 Cadillac V8 engine that was modified with four 2-barrel carburetors and a Horne intake manifold. Originally custom built for Country Music Hall of Fame member and co-host of the TV show “Hee Haw,” Buck Owens, this Mercury features a 45 rpm record player that contains Owens’ records as well as memorabilia from Owens’ “Hee Haw” co-host Roy Clark and trophies from various car shows in Texas. It sold at the Barrett-Jackson 2024 Scottsdale auction for $55,000.
