The company’s retail website claims it can increase the range to 470 miles (756 km). Electrical Company The automaker told them it was an AWD model with the Extender. Fitting the Cyberbeast with an extra battery would increase its range to 440 miles (708 km).

Customers can order a piggyback battery now with a $500 deposit, but Tesla says production of the pack won’t start until early 2025. The company also says the packs will need to be professionally installed at a Tesla service center. That means anyone with a sturdy garage lift that might be able to add and remove batteries if they want to switch between the Range and Bed variants is out of luck.
