AC Cars launches new Ace Classic Electric in the United States

AC Cars will launch the all-electric Ace Classic at the SEMA Auto Show in the United States. The model follows the launch of the Ace and Ace Bristol earlier this month.

Full details will be revealed on November 5, but the model features a retro-style carbon fiber body and traditional grille. They are held together by wire wheels and classic brightwork.

Despite its old-school appearance, the sports car features a modern design with “elegant rolling flanks and wheel arches” that contrast with the “flattened original”. We can also see LED headlights that appear to have round daytime running lights.

AC Cars hasn’t revealed much about the hand-finished interior, but there’s a wood-framed steering wheel and vintage gauges from Speedhut. The model also appears to feature a minimalist rotary gear lever.

Power is provided by the Tremec Electric GT’s electronic box system. The model is equipped with a 72 kWh battery pack and a 302 hp (225 kW / 306 PS) electric motor. AC Cars didn’t provide many other details, but said the sports car will weigh less than 2,500 pounds (1,134 kilograms) and have a range of more than 200 miles (322 kilometers).

U.S. pricing starts at $275,000 before tax and delivery is expected to begin next year. Only a “limited number” of cars will be available in the United States, and they will be left-hand drive on this side of the Atlantic. The US model will also be shipped partially assembled, as the powertrain will be installed by Tremec.
